Art Collection: Flying Angels - Kuyoten

What grabbed my eye about this piece was the angels skirt. The mix of teal and pinks, how it's so beautifully draped. I am a big fan of Masayuki Miyata work.

From the set of three prints, Chinese Dunhuang Deities. This piece represents "Kuyoten". She is offering peonies in a tray and soaring into the blue sky. Masayuki Miyata was born with exceptional talent. Receiving no formal art training, his natural artistic ability led him into numerous awards and recognitions all over the world. Miyata used only one small blade to create his distinctive and graceful masterpieces of kiri-e (Japanese paper cuts). Even after his untimely passing in 1997, Miyata’s work has continued to be in international demand.
